An evaluation of central corneal epithelial thickness and central corneal thickness determined on optic coherence tomography before and after applanation tonometry

Objective: To determine the changes in corneal epithelial thickness and central using optic coherence tomography taken after Goldmann applanation tonometry measurements. Material Methods: The study included 25 patients who presented at our clinic for routine ophthalmological examination. Before taking measurements of patients, values were determined cohence (OCT). intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured with then OCT repeated. All by same clinician. Results: Evaluation made comprising 18 males 7 females a mean age 36.6 years (range, 17-55 years). 52.58 microns before measurement, 52.02 (p=0.059). Central as 530.96 529.88 (p>0.05). No statistically significant difference both Following tonometry, change seen thickness, but not level Conclusion: results showed no following tonometry. Although significant, indicates desquamation cells result procedure. This may cause complaints such reduction visual acuity feeling burning or pricking eye. If glasses are to be prescribed this should into consideration examination measurement. best knowledge, there has been previous literature therefore obtained first on subject.
